Avelo Airlines is expanding its network from Los Angeles with nonstop flights to four new destinations: Monterey, California; Fort Collins-Loveland, Colorado; Provo, Utah and St. George, Utah.

Four new routes

Avelo will start flying from Hollywood Burbank Airport to four new destinations – Monterey, California; Fort Collins-Loveland, Colorado; Provo, Utah and St. George, Utah.

Andrew Levy, Chairman and CEO, Avelo Airlines, said:

Since our launch, we’ve been on a mission to bring low fares, more choice and greater convenience in air travel to Angelenos. These new routes will provide our LA Customers with unmatched affordability and direct access to four beautiful unserved destinations across the Western U.S. With the money you save and the caring service you experience, you’ll want to explore all of our destinations.

We are pleased and excited to see Avelo expand its service from BUR with these four new destinations and continue to enhance the convenience of the airport.

Home to Brigham Young University, the region boasts a wide range of events and festivals, with local holiday-themed performances and celebrations taking place throughout the winter.

Avelo says that Provo airport is the more convenient and relaxing alternative to the congestion, baggage delays, long lines and added expense of Salt Lake City International Airport. Provo airport is just a 45-minute drive to downtown Salt Lake City and about an hour’s drive to the region’s world-famous ski resorts, including Park City, Snowbird, Alta and others. Avelo also serves Salt Lake City’s Ogden-Hinckley Airport.

Michelle Kaufusi, Mayor, Provo City, said:

Avelo’s goal of ‘refreshingly smooth travel,’ matches the reason so many travelers choose The Provo Airport: convenience, affordability and fewer crowds. We are becoming the worst-kept secret for better travel options.

Situated just north of Denver, the Fort Collins–Loveland area is known for its arts and entertainment scene, live music, and abundant outdoor recreational activities including skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, sledding and ice skating. Loveland’s famed skiing is a short 20-minute drive from Fort Collins – Loveland Airport. Other world-renowned ski resorts, including Vail, Copper Mountain, Winter Park and Eldora Mountain are also a short distance from Fort Collins – Loveland Airport — with shorter total travel times than from Denver International Airport when accounting for long terminal walks, slower baggage delivery and the shuttle transfer from the terminal to Denver International Airport’s satellite car rental facility.

With 300 days of sunshine, snow-capped mountains, idyllic lakes and clear-running rivers, Norther Colorado is captivating year-round. Fort Collins – Loveland Airport is the nearest airport to Colorado State University, Estes Park and breathtaking Rocky Mountain National Park. Additionally, both Fort Collins and Loveland have award-winning historic downtown communities within 20 minutes of the airport, offering delectable restaurants, eclectic entertainment and a variety of retail, novelty and confectionery shops.

Jason Licon, Director, Fort Collins – Loveland Northern Colorado Regional Airport, said:

We know travelers are looking for affordable, convenient travel options and Avelo has shown a commitment to partner with smaller, more convenient airports like ours to make that happen. We are committed to bringing affordable and innovative commercial flights through our region, especially those in high-demand markets like the Greater Los Angeles area.

St. George, Utah

Starting 7th October 2021, Avelo will fly twice-a-week between Los Angeles’ Hollywood Burbank Airport and St. George Regional Airport. The flight schedule is:

  • Burbank-St. George
  • Departure time: 17:40
  • Arrival time: 20:00
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 20 minutes
  • Flight number: XP133
  • Frequency: Thursdays and Sundays
  • St. George-Burbank
  • Departure time: 20:40
  • Arrival time: 20:50
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 10 minutes
  • Flight number: XP134
  • Frequency: Thursdays and Sundays

Below the Great Basin of Utah sits St. George, a perpetually sunny haven full of plateaus, red rock mesas and the gateway to Zion National Park – one of the region’s biggest attractions. While Southern Utah is known for spectacular national parks and desert-style outdoor recreation, travelers to St. George are just 90 minutes from Brian Head, one of the state’s great ski resorts. Thanks to the region’s warm autumns and mild winters, visitors can enjoy the great outdoors and magnificent views through a variety of activities, including hiking, golfing, camping and mountain biking.

Rich Stehmeier, Manager, St. George Regional Airport, said:

The return of convenient, nonstop access to Southern California is a big step forward for us. We set a record for usage in May, and we expect that this will only help fuel the popularity of SGU as a low-stress, high-value choice for travelers.

Expanding

With the addition of these four destinations, Avelo will now fly to 12 destinations from Burbank in its fall and winter schedule. These destinations include: Arcata-Eureka, California; Eugene, Oregon; Medford, Oregon; Pasco, Washington; Redding, California; Redmond-Bend, Oregon; Salt Lake City-Ogden, Utah; and the recent addition of Santa Rosa, California with flights from Hollywood Burbank Airport. Later this year, Avelo will begin service to and from its first East Coast base in Southern Connecticut at New Haven Airport, further expanding its network across the United States.

Don Skeoch, Chief Marketing Officer, Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, said:

Los Angeles has started its comeback, and we are inviting visitors to safely and responsibly start their comeback to LA. Avelo’s new service coincides with our national advertising campaign, and we hope visitors from our important feeder markets – newly serviced by Avelo – will find it even easier to experience all LA has to offer.

All these brand-new routes will be operated by Avelo’s B737-800 aircraft featuring 189 seats. Avelo aircraft also feature 60 seats with up to 9 inches of extra legroom starting at $11.

Flights to Monterey start at $39 while flights to the other three destinations start at $49.
