Hilton’s Home2Suites opens 500th hotel

Hilton has announced that its extended stay brand, Home2Suites has opened its 500th hotel, with the achievement coming in just 19 years since the brand launched.

Hilton says that it launched the Home2Suites brand with a unique purpose – designed to be a savvy, dynamic brand for extended stay travellers.

Today, Home2 Suites by Hilton holds the industry’s largest pipeline in North America, with more than 400 hotels in development, and is in the midst of a global expansion by introducing an innovative and value-added extended stay product in China, with the first hotel expected to open this fall.

Leonard Gooz, Global Head, Home2 Suites by Hilton, said:

As we reflect on the past decade, I’m extremely proud of Home2 Suites by Hilton’s growth, and can attest to the bright future that lies ahead, evidenced by our robust pipeline. The brand’s accomplishments and record growth would not be possible without the partnership of our passionate owners and developers who share in our belief that if you develop the right product and deliver a differentiating service experience, guests will love it and seek more of it.

The Journey

Hilton states that at the time of the brand’s launch in 2011, it saw a need in the marketplace for a midscale, extended-stay hotel offering that would deliver the familiar comforts of home, regardless of a guest’s length of stay. According to Hilton, Hoem2Suites has shown great strength and resilience in the market during both healthy and challenging cycles.

Customer demand answered by the brand’s design and amenities has set up Home2 Suites to quickly become one of Hilton’s fastest-growing brands since its inception. Home2Suites’s ability to achieve rapid growth is because of strong partnerships with its owner-developers, like that with Baywood Hotels, states Hilton. Baywood is a longtime partner with more than 60 Hilton-branded properties — 19 of them Home2 Suites, including its latest addition, Home2 Suites by Hilton Fort Myers Airport.

Al Patel, President, Baywood Hotels, said:

We’re proud of our valued partnership with Hilton, and more specifically, proud to be part of Home2 Suites by Hilton’s rapid growth and success over the past decade. From day one, Home2 Suites has shown the resilience of its extended stay model. It’s been a great brand to develop, operate and invest in. That holds true especially in today’s increasingly crowded extended stay space where our Home2 Suites properties continue to perform strongly.

Global Growth

Boasting the largest pipeline industry-wide in North America, Home2Suites also has the opportunity to double its global footprint over the next few years.

In China, the brand’s master license agreement with Funyard Hotels & Resorts, a core alliance enterprise of one of China’s largest real estate corporations, Country Garden, is planned to introduce an innovative new extended-stay product that provides travellers with home-like amenities in the region. Via the concept of “Travel + Living”, Funyard will develop more than 1,000 Home2 Suites hotels in China. The first Home2 Suites is expected to open this fall, marking the brand’s entry into the Asia Pacific to capture the emerging Travel + Living demand in the region.

Alexandra Jaritz, Senior Vice President, Brand Management, Asia Pacific, Hilton, said:

Home2 Suites by Hilton is well-positioned to flourish in the Chinese market where we’ve seen rapid growth across several Hilton brands over the last few years. We look forward to continuing to work closely with our partners at Funyard as we realize our shared vision to provide travelers in China with an innovative and quality extended-stay product at a great value.

Home2 Suites offers modern, all-suite accommodations with fully accessorized kitchens or kitchenettes, in addition to modular furniture, providing guests the flexibility to customize their suite to their style and preference. The pet-friendly hotels also feature free high-speed internet, complimentary daily breakfast, inviting communal spaces, popular outside amenities such as grills and fire pits, Home2-branded amenities such as Spin2 Cycle, a combined laundry and fitness area, and Home2 MKT for grab-and-go items.

Meanwhile, Hilton recently signed its 4 resort in the Maldives, Hilton Maldives Amangiri, bringing its flagship brand to the dreamy island paradise, Conrad Los Angeles at The Grand LA, DoubleTree by Hilton Osaka Castle, Sea Breeze Santorini Beach Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton Bahrain Residences. The hospitality giant also recently opened its first DoubleTree property in Germany, first Tapestry Collection property in Europe, DoubleTree by Hilton Brussels City, Hilton Vallarta Riviera All Inclusive Resort, The Ray Hotel Delray Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton, Mangrove Beach Corendon Curaçao, Curio Collection by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Austin University Capitol District. The hospitality chain will open its largest hotel in Asia-Pacific in Singapore in January 2022.
