Accor announces the signing of three new hotels in the United Kingdom

Accor has announced the signing of three new hotels in the United Kingdom – Mercure Bredbury Hall, Mercure Dumfries and ibis Styles Romford – with a combined 334 rooms.

The Mercure Bredbury Hall Hotel will consist of 149 guest rooms which will be brought into the Accor family in Q4 2021. This project is in partnership with Vine Hotels, a working partner of Accor’s, having worked alongside the company on development of the new Novotel and ibis Gateshead Quays project, as well as being the operator of Mercure Southampton and Mercure Sheffield Kenwood Hall. The hotel will undergo a full refurbishment to ‘bring it in line with the standards aligned with the Mercure brand’.

The 60 guest room Mercure Dumfries will open in partnership with Splendid Hospitality Group in the first half of 2022.

The new Mercure properties of Bredbury Hall and Dumfries will join Mercure’s portfolio of nearly 900 hotels across 61 countries. The latest signings bring the UK portfolio to 88 Mercure hotels.

The ibis Styles Romford, signed with Romford South Limited, will be a 125-room hotel located in the center of Romford, approximately a 50 yard walk from Romford station. Accor states that the hotel could open as early as Q4 2021. As part of the ibis Styles brand, the hotel will feature a creative design and a playful atmosphere.

Philip Lassman, Vice President, Development, Northern Europe, Accor, said:

As this latest wave of summer signings signify, Accor’s non-standardised brands are particularly appealing to hotel developers and owners who wish to retain the services, style and character of the boutique hotels and to delight guests looking for a unique design and storytelling. The strength of our non-standardised and conversion brand portfolio such as the Mercure and ibis Styles brands, are attractive solutions for owners seeking global weight and local appeal. Accor has received growing interest from hoteliers looking for the associated benefits that a global hospitality group can provide, such as Accor 360° Solutions. Our powerful range of specialised offerings help boost revenue, optimize costs and maximize return on investment, bringing expertise and support to hoteliers in areas such as distribution, loyalty programming, purchasing, technology, sales, marketing and sustainability programs. We are proud our continued strength is enabling us to further develop projects in the UK with great partners.

Meanwhile, Accor recently announced the signing of its sixth resort in the Maldives, SO/ Maldives and the opening of Mercure Rhodes Alexia, Mercure’s debut property in Greece.
