Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced that it will introduce its voco brand in India with a resort in Jim Corbett.
IHG has signed a management agreement with Satyadeo Hospitality Private Limited to convert Corbet Aamod Spa & Resort into India’s first voco hotel.
voco Jim Corbett will be located in the popular leisure gateway in North India, Jim Corbett which attracts high footfall from tourists. Located along the popular Dhikuli gate and within few minutes’ walk from the main market, the property will have excellent visibility along the Kosi River and easy access to all major tourist spots in the area. The hotel is also strategically located in close proximity to the railway station. Nearest airport is in the city of Pantnagar.
Scheduled to open in 2024, the resort will feature 100 guest rooms and suites. In addition to guest rooms, the hotel will feature an outdoor swimming pool, a gymnasium, a spa, an all-day dining restaurant and a bar. For hosting events, the also will also have indoor and outdoor banqueting spaces.

The signing of voco Jim Corbett marks the brand’s debut in the Southwest Asia region. The signing also marks introduction of the 7th brand from IHG’s global portfolio to the Indian market.
Presently, IHG operates hotels under the following six brands in the country:

- Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts
- Crowne Plaza
- Holiday Inn
- Holiday Inn Express
- Holiday Inn Resorts
IHG has a pipeline of 37 hotels due to open in the next 2-3 years in Southwest Asia.
Jim Corbett is seeing a much needed competition in terms of premium hotels in the area. Until now, under a major hospitality group, there was only Taj Corbett Resort and Spa in the area. Recently, ITC opened WelcomHotel by ITC Hotels Jim Corbett, representing a fresh competition in the area. With the arrival of voco Jim Corbett, the area will have at least three premium hotels.
