Etihad Airways has announced that it is boosting flights to Frankfurt in order to accommodate the rising demand.
Starting 1st May 2023, Etihad Airways will operate 11-flights-a-week between Abu Dhabi and the German financial capital, up from the current 7-weekly flights.
The 4-weekly additional flights between Abu Dhabi International Airport and Frankfurt Airport will operate with the following schedule:
- Abu Dhabi-Frankfurt
- Departure time: 09:50
- Arrival time: 14:25
- Flight time: 6 hours and 35 minutes
- Flight number: EY7
- Frequency: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
- Frankfurt-Abu Dhabi
- Departure time: 21:45
- Arrival time: 06:05 (the next day)
- Flight time: 6 hours and 20 minutes
- Flight number: EY8
- Frequency: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
These additional flights will be operated by Etihad’s Boeing B787-9 Dreamliners featuring 28 Business Class seats and 262 standard Economy Class seats.

Although famed for its financial activities, Frankfurt has a rich cultural history too and the old town with its half-timbered houses, the cathedral, the museum embankment and the Goethe House are popular with the thousands of tourists the city welcomes each year.
Etihad recently announced that it will start flying to Düsseldorf from October 2023. Düsseldorf will be its third destination in Germany after Frankfurt and Munich.
With the addition of Düsseldorf and frequency increase to Frankfurt, Etihad Airways will operate 21-flights-a-week to the European country as of 1st October 2023 (the date when Düsseldorf service launches), up from the current 14-weekly flights.
Etihad will operate the following services to Germany:
- Frankfurt: presently 7-weekly flights (increasing to 11-weekly as of 1st May 2023)
- Munich: 7-weekly flights
- Düsseldorf: 3-weekly flights (launching on 1st October 2023)
All of these services will be operated by Etihad’s Boeing B787-9 (or B787-10) aircraft featuring Business Class and Economy Class.
