Marriott’s newest luxury resort in Bengaluru, Mulberry Shades Bengaluru Nandi Hills, a Tribute Portfolio resort, will open this week. This will be the second resort under the Tribute Portfolio brand in India after the one in Kochi.
Mulberry Shades Bengaluru Nandi Hills, a Tribute Portfolio resort is located in Nandi Hills in the Devanahalli area. Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport is located at a 30-minutes’ drive. Historical sites such as Devanahalli Fort are nearby.
The resort features multiple accommodation types, ranging from Traditional rooms to the 3-bedroom suite, the largest at the resort. The rooms are beautifully designed with most of them offering courtyard views and a balcony. The base rooms are a generous 39 square meters in area, although this can be expected from a “wellness resort”. The rooms have a rustic yet luxurious vibe to them.
The 3-bedroom suite features 160 square meters of space in addition to a separate living room and four bathrooms.

The resort features the following Food and Beverage (F&B) venues:
- Terra is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant. The “energetic” restaurant offers fine Indian cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Kokoon is a deli serving a variety of sandwiches, cold drinks and other sundries, ideal for a quick bite
- Asri is the hotel’s swim-up bar serving a variety of handcrafted cocktails and light appetizers
As this is a wellness resort, the hotel has of course focused more on its wellness offerings. Ksema is the resort’s spa featuring six treatment rooms, a Turkish Hammam, a jacuzzi, and steam and sauna rooms. The spa offers Ayurvedic treatments, couples massages, fitness classes and many other services.
The resort also features a fully equipped 24:7 fitness center providing views of the Nandi Hills. Also present is an open-air swimming pool along with a children’s pool. The resort offers 2,310 square meters of event spaces, with the largest event space capable of accommodating up to 150 guests. Other facilities at the resort include a tennis court and a dedicated recreation area.

This is the second Marriott resort in the same area. In 2022, Marriott opened JW Marriott Prestige Golfshire Resort and Spa. Both the resorts are operated by the same group, the Prestige Group.
The close proximity to the JW Marriott resort may also be a concerning thing. Although both the properties focus on wellness, the Tribute Portfolio resort seems to have a more intimate feel to it while the JW Marriott resort is expansive, with the advantage of having a golf ground too.
Although that is true, the resort itself feels great. The use of minimalist design combined with the rustic feel gives a great vibe. Also, the use of lots of wood adds to the design factor. One thing which I like about the resort is that it is pet-friendly, something which is not that common in India.
Marriott has lately been opening more premium properties in India. It’s good to see the company invest in the hospitality sector of India, something which is growing at a break-neck speed in the country currently. The arrival of these type of resorts creates new employment opportunities while contributing to the economy also.
