Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport has announced that its all-new Terminal 2 will start operations on 15th January 2023. In a totally unexpected move, the debut airline in the terminal will be Star Air, a Bengaluru-based regional carrier.
Akasa Air, the newest low-cost carrier in India, has announced Goa as its 12th destination. The airline will launch flights to the hottest beach holiday destination in India next year in January.

Akasa Air has announced that it will soon start service to Lucknow, marking the airline’s entry in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow will be Akasa’s 11th destination overall.

***UPDATE***: Akasa Air has changed the commencement date of Bengaluru-Pune route. The route will now launch on 26th November 2022 with both the daily flights commencing on that day itself. Akasa Air has announced that it will begin nonstop flights between Bengaluru and Pune. With this, Pune becomes the ninth destination of Akasa Air.
Cathay Pacific has today (11th October 2022) launched flights from Bengaluru, India. With this, Bengaluru becomes the third destination for the airline in India.
Akasa Air has announced two new destinations – Guwahati and Agartala. This will mark the entry of the airline in the North-East Indian market.
Accor has announced the opening of the 21st ibis hotel in India, the ibis Bengaluru Hebbal. ibis Bengaluru Hebbal is very similar to ibis Mumbai Vikhroli (which opened in October 2021), given that they both are built using the same design philosophy. Also, both of them are part of ibis’ New Generation Design hotels.
Emirates has announced that it will start operating Airbus A380 to Bengaluru in the Indian state of Karnataka. Bengaluru will be the second destination that Emirates will operate the A380 to after Mumbai.
