IndiGo has been expanding at both Rajkot and Vadodara lately. From both the cities, the airline recently added a third daily flight to Mumbai and a 3-weekly flight to North Goa.
IndiGo had plans to operate daily flights from Rajkot to Udaipur and Indore but that have been shelved two times now. First, the new services were planned to operate from 1st May 2023. Then, they were postponed to 1st July 2023 and now, the new launch date is 21st August 2023, although, this is still skeptical, given IndiGo’s continuous postponement.
Pune is an important industrial IT hub with a growing population. The city attracts a lot of business traffic in addition to tourists looking to visit the surrounding mountain destinations like Lonavala and Mahabaleshwar.
Besides Ahmedabad, IndiGo has been focusing more on Rajkot and Vadodara than Surat, expanding from these cities. Probably, the reason for this is the large catchment area. Rajkot flights get a lot of traffic from surrounding cities of Jamnagar, Morbi, Porbandar and Junagadh. On the other hand, Vadodara has been under the radar for quite some time now, probably due to the fact that it is in very close proximity to Ahmedabad. However, citizens from these cities have been demanding more flights to new cities and IndiGo is one airline that is listening to them and experimenting with these previously unexplored routes.

DIRECT FLIGHT FROM VADODARA TO PUNE HAS BEEN COMMENCED. THERE SHOULD BE HOPPING FLIGHT FROM PUNE TO NASIK TO VADODARA AND RETURN BACK. NASIK IS ALSO IMPORTANT INDUSTRIAL HUB.
I am sure IndiGo is continuously evaluating potential routes to/from the mentioned cities. 6E just started serving Nashik some months back and has already expanded services to/from Nashik since then.
