Marriott’s Moxy Hotels prepares for its Indian debut in Bengaluru

American hospitality chain Marriott’s Moxy Hotels is preparing for its Indian debut in Bengaluru next month. In fact, this marks the brand’s debut in South Asia.

Moxy Bengaluru Airport Prestige Tech Cloud is the first property under the Moxy brand in India. The highly anticipated brand is now accepting reservations for its debut hotel.

Reservations at Moxy Bengaluru Airport Prestige Tech Cloud are now available for stays as of 15th January 2024. Let’s go over some of the hotel details.

The hotel, situated at a distance of just nine kilometres from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport, features 128 guest rooms and suites designed for the “playful traveller”. The rooms offer views of either the hotel’s swimming pool or the surrounding area and offers amenities such as USB ports, MUK toiletries, high-definition television and under-bed storage. Moxy signatures like hanging storage options to complement the compact room design will continue at its Indian properties. The base rooms – Moxy Sleeper – start at 21 square meters (226 square feet) while the Moxy Suite is spread out over an area of 57 square meters (614 square feet).

As is signature at a Moxy hotel, guests will complete their check-in formalities at the Bar Moxy with a complimentary drink. The bar is present smack in the middle of the hotel lobby. Moxy Kitchen, the hotel’s all-day diner, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner offering international cuisine with a grab-and-go menu along with a full drinks menu. The Airside Pool Bar is the “go-to space” for fun with live DJ and cocktails.

Other facilities present at the hotel include an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness centre along with event spaces such as the 970 square meter outdoor Skylawn or the 335 square meter meeting room. Unlike other Moxy Hotels, this hotel is not pet-friendly.

Pricing

As aforementioned, the hotel is now accepting reservations for stays as of 15th January 2024. The hotel is currently running a “Moxy Madness – Grand Opening Offer” which includes buffet breakfast for up to 2 guests daily at Moxy Kitchen, buffet dinner for up to 2 guests daily at Moxy Kitchen, Wi-Fi and upgrade upon availability at check-in. Rates for this offer start at 12980₹ ($156 approximately) for two guests including taxes.

The “Member Exclusive Offer” includes buffet breakfast daily at Moxy Kitchen, Wi-Fi, upgrade upon availability at check in, 1000 Bonus Points per stay, one-way airport transportation, early check-in, late check-out, welcome drink on arrival and a welcome amenity. Rates for this offer for double occupancy starts at 11800₹ ($142 approximately) including taxes.

It will be interesting to see how Moxy Hotels evolves in the Indian market. While the finer details are unknown as of now, it will also be interesting to see how this brand, targeted at younger generation (or shall I say GenZ), will adapt to the Indian hospitality scene.

At present, two other Moxy properties are in the pipeline – one in Chennai and one in Mumbai’s Andheri neighbourhood.
