Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Taj resort in Chail, Himachal Pradesh.
Taj Chail
IHCL will convert an existing resort into a Taj resort while expanding it to feature 100 rooms and suites.
Nestled amidst lush greenery and serene landscapes, Taj Chail will celebrate the charm of a bygone era, blending old-world elegance with modern luxury. Combining contemporary aesthetics and colonial influences, the resort will feature intricate lattice work, stained glass, and cobbled stone pathways.
Himachal Pradesh is home to many off-beat and idyllic destinations like Chail and IHCL with 11 hotels across brands in the state is committed to unlocking its tourism potential. This signing is in line with our strategy of pioneering and nurturing emerging destinations, offering travellers distinctive experiences rooted in local culture. We are delighted to partner with Mr. Girish Batra and Mr. Vansh Batra to bring the iconic Taj brand to the region.

Dining options will include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a bar. Other amenities will include a heated swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, an activity centre and a J Wellness Circle spa. Additionally, the resort will feature the largest banqueting venue in Chail for social events and celebrations.
Chail is a picturesque hill station in Himachal Pradesh renowned for its dense forests, misty mountain views, and charming heritage sites, including the famous Chail Palace.
With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 11 hotels in Himachal Pradesh including 6 under development.
Hotel brands have lately been looking at more quaint destinations in Himachal Pradesh as capacity in tourist hotspots like Shimla and Manali has almost reached its peak. We have seen this with Taj opening a resort in Theog near Shimla and Thailand’s Dusit Hotels and Resorts opening a resort in Fagu near Shimla. A Fairmont too is scheduled to open in Fagu next year. Currently, there is a WelcomHotel in Chail, with Taj joining soon.
