The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expanded the eligibility criteria for Visa-On-Arrival for those holding an Indian passport. Read on to know more.
UAE Visa-On-Arrival
The UAE has introduced the first phase of its Blue Visa system, granting eligible foreigners a 10-year residency permit. Alongside this initiative, the nation has expanded its visa-on-arrival program for Indian nationals, now including those holding valid visas, residence permits or Green Cards from six additional countries.
As of 13th February 2025, Indian passport holders with valid visas, residence permits or Green cards from Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and South Korea are eligible for a Visa-On-Arrival in the UAE at alll entry points. Previously, this privilege was only available to individuals with visas or residency permits from the United States, European Union (EU) member states, and the United Kingdom (UK).
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) confirmed that Indian travellers meeting the new criteria can obtain their visa upon arrival without prior application. This move is expected to boost tourism and strengthen business ties between the UAE and India.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the visa-on-arrival facility, Indian passport holders must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a passport valid for at least six months at the time of entry.
- Possess a valid tourist visa, residence permit, or Green Card from any of the eligible countries.
- Pay the applicable visa fees in accordance with UAE regulations.
Indian nationals who qualify under this scheme will receive a 14-day entry visa, which can be extended for a fee, as per guidelines from the ICP.
