SpiceJet announces 30 new domestic flights

SpiceJet has announced new flights and increase in frequencies on some routes.

SpiceJet has announced the launch of 30 new domestic flights in India including 6 new flights from Darbhanga in Bihar, India. The new services will begin from 20th December,2020 in a phased manner.

The Indian low cost carrier will launch flights from Darbhanga to Ahmedabad, Pune and Hyderabad. While flights on Ahmedabad-Darbhanga route will operate daily, flights on Pune-Darbhanga and Hyderabad-Darbhanga will operate on all days except Saturday.

“Enhancing connectivity from Darbhanga, SpiceJet will launch flights connecting the city with Ahmedabad, Pune and Hyderabad,” the airline said in a statement.

SpiceJet had started daily flights connecting Darbhanga to Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru and it is the 1st and only airline operating to Darbhanga. It is the airline’s 13th UDAN destination.

SpiceJet has also announced new flights on routes such as Hyderabad-Vishakhapatnam, Kolkata-Goa, Chennai-Shirdi, Ahmedabad-Gwalior and Kolkata-Port Blair.

“In its bid to enhance connectivity between the metros and key non-metro cities, the airline has also launched new flights on Hyderabad-Vishakhapatnam-Hyderabad, Chennai-Shirdi-Chennai, Kolkata-Goa-Kolkata, Ahmedabad-Gwalior-Ahmedabad and Kolkata-Port Blair-Kolkata sectors,” the statement said.

The Indian airline will also augment its operations by adding second frequencies on the Hyderabad-Goa-Hyderabad, Bengaluru-Shirdi-Bengaluru, Chennai-Guwahati-Chennai, Mumbai-Goa-Mumbai, Ahmedabad-Goa-Ahmedabad and Mumbai-Kandla-Mumbai sectors besides Mumbai-Guwahati and Guwahati-Kolkata.

The carrier will operate five-flights-a-week on Kolkata-Goa route, four-times-a-week on routes such as Bengaluru-Shirdi and Chennai-Guwahati, three-times-a-week on routes such as Mumbai-Kandla, Chennai-Shirdi and Ahmedabad-Gwalior. Flights between Kolkata and Port Blair will operate on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The airline will deploy a mix of Boeing B737 and Bombardier Q400 aircraft on these routes.
