Air India announces flights between Bengaluru and Patna

Indian full service carrier Air India has announced a new route connecting Bengaluru and Patna. The airline will fly between the capital of Karnataka and the capital of Patna 3-times-a-week.

Bengaluru-Patna

Starting 2nd August 2021, Air India will fly between Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport and Patna’s Jayprakash Narayan International Airport.

The flights will run with the following schedule:

  • Bengaluru-Patna
  • Departure time: 17:40
  • Arrival time: 20:05
  • Flight time: 2 hours and 25 minutes
  • Flight number: AI573
  • Frequency: Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays
  • Patna-Bengaluru
  • Departure time: 20:55
  • Arrival time: 23:40
  • Flight time: 2 hours and 45 minutes
  • Flight number: AI574
  • Frequency: Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays

The flag carrier of India will deploy a Airbus A319 on this route. The airline already serves Patna with flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Amritsar.

Heavy competition

Air India will compete with three of India’s biggest low-cost carriers – Indigo, SpiceJet and GoFirst. Indigo operates 3 flights a day, SpiceJet operates 1 or 2 flights a day and GoFirst also operates 1 or 2 flights a day. Indigo and GoFirst operates the route with a Airbus A320 aircraft while SpiceJet deploys a Boeing B737 on this route.

Meanwhile, Air India recently announced brand-new route between Mumbai and Malé, Maldives with flights starting on 28th July 2021. The news comes after Maldives started welcoming travellers from India once again.
