Akasa Air to start flights to Pune

***UPDATE***: Akasa Air has changed the commencement date of Bengaluru-Pune route. The route will now launch on 26th November 2022 with both the daily flights commencing on that day itself.

Akasa Air has announced that it will begin nonstop flights between Bengaluru and Pune. With this, Pune becomes the ninth destination of Akasa Air.

Bengaluru-Pune flights

Starting 23rd November 2022, Akasa Air will operate a daily flight between Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport and Pune International Airport with the following schedule:

  • Bengaluru-Pune
  • Departure time: 15:15
  • Arrival time: 16:50
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 35 minutes
  • Flight number: QP1364
  • Frequency: Daily
  • Pune-Bengaluru
  • Departure time: 17:30
  • Arrival time: 19:05
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 35 minutes
  • Flight number: QP1365
  • Frequency: Daily

As of 26th November 2022, the airline will operate an additional daily flight between the two cities with the following schedule:

  • Bengaluru-Pune
  • Departure time: 05:00
  • Arrival time: 06:35
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 35 minutes
  • Flight number: QP1311
  • Frequency: Daily
  • Pune-Bengaluru
  • Departure time: 07:15
  • Arrival time: 08:50
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 35 minutes
  • Flight number: QP1312
  • Frequency: Daily

Flights will be operated by Akasa Air’s Boeing B737MAX featuring 189 standard Economy Class seats.

Enhancing connectivity between Bengaluru and Mumbai

On 23rd November 2022, the Indian low-cost carrier will add two more daily flights between Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. With this, Akasa will have up to 7 daily flights between the two metros.

Further strengthening our domestic connectivity, we are pleased to add two more frequencies to the high-capacity Bengaluru-Mumbai route, with this we cross 20 daily flights from Bengaluru connecting across seven destinations.

Akasa will now offer 20 daily flights from Bengaluru connecting seven cities: Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Guwahati, and Pune. Akasa Air has been progressively scaling up its operations and expects to cross approximately 58-daily flights and 400-weekly flights by the end of November 2022.

Growing rapidly

Akasa Air initially announced four cities as part of its first round of operations. Since then, the airline has added five more cities to its network, started new routes and increased frequencies on the already operating routes.

The airline is growing at a really fast pace. This winter season will be the first full season for the airline. It will be interesting to see how the airline performs in the crucial holiday season.

The airline has obtained slots at Visakhapatnam Airport for flights to Bengaluru and Hyderabad. We can expect Visakhapatnam to be added to Akasa’s network in the coming weeks.

Bengaluru is growing as a strong hub in Akasa’s network with nonstop flights available to Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kochi, Chennai, Guwahati, New Delhi and now Pune. The airline is also simultaneously growing in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, New Delhi and Chennai with flights to multiple cities.

Akasa will have the fastest fleet induction of all the India-based airlines, with the airline targeting to operate 18 aircraft by March 2023.

Meanwhile, Akasa Air recently launched flights from Bengaluru to Agartala via Guwahati.
