With our convenient morning departure from Abu Dhabi, our second Bangkok flight has optimised timings for those UAE residents wishing to have a break in Thailand. Moreover, the return departure from Bangkok allows for those Thai residents to arrive in Abu Dhabi in the morning to have a head-start in exploring what the city has to offer in terms of business and pleasure. It further reaffirms our commitment to bringing more guests to enjoy Abu Dhabi.

said Arik De, Chief Revenue Officer, Etihad Airways.

Well-timed flights

As Arik De mentions, the new flight’s timings are convenient for those starting their journey in Abu Dhabi. The return flight from Bangkok is also well timed for those connecting from Abu Dhabi and continuing their journey onwards as most flights to Europe and North America leave Abu Dhabi around 2-3 hours of EY405’s arrival.

With Etihad’s double-daily service, two big Middle Eastern carriers – Emirates and Etihad – will have six combined flights to the Thai capital. Etihad will have twice-daily Boeing B787 flights while Emirates will have four daily Airbus A380 flights. Emirates recently added a fourth-daily flight to Bangkok. Doha-based Qatar Airways also has up to four daily rotations to Bangkok.

Meanwhile, Etihad Airways recently announced that it will expand its India operations next summer.
