Qatar Airways unveils “Qsuite Next Gen”

Qatar Airways has unveiled the next generation of its highly regarded Business Class – Qsuite. Let’s go over the details.

Qatar Airways has unveiled “Qsuite Next Gen”, the next generation of its highly regarded Business Class – Qsuite. This was done on the 1st day of Farnborough International Airshow which is happening now until 26th July 2024.

The airline says that the “game-changing” Qsuite Next Gen aims to “facilitate a mindful work-life balance with its revolutionary attributes for all professionals, friends, and families”. The current generation Qsuite product has Quad Suites, with the centre suites facing each other and opening up to become a room. However, the inflight entertainment screens don’t move around.

In the Qsuite Next Gen product, however, the redesigned Quad Suite is now equipped with movable 4K OLED Panasonic Astrova IFE screens – a first for any airline in the world. The screens can be repositioned to the side to create the largest social and productivity space in the sky for up to four passengers in the Quad Suite, and up to two passengers in the Companion Suite.

For the first time, Qatar Airways is offering Companion Suites. They have similar characteristics to the Quad Suite, offering the same shared space in window aisles.

Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Group Chief Executive Officer, Qatar Airways Group said.

The airline says that the seats are 1.5-inches wider than the current ones, with increased space for dining together, as well added privacy with taller, digitally controlled dividers. With larger lie-flat and double beds, the new Quad Suite comes with a dedicated “Make My Bed” feature.

The Qsuite Next Gen offers various customisation options, ranging from ambient lighting to privacy controls, through its upgraded touchscreen Passenger Control Units.

The Qsuite Next Gen product will be installed on the upcoming Boeing B777-9s which are scheduled to be delivered to Qatar Airways starting 2025. The airline may also install this new product on Airbus A350s also.
