SpiceJet to start nonstop flight from Rajkot to Bengaluru

SpiceJet has announced plans to connect Rajkot to Bengaluru with a nonstop flight.

For the 1st time ever, Rajkot will get direct air connectivity to Bengaluru. Indian low cost carrier SpiceJet will connect the two cities with a daily nonstop flight from 24th February,2021.

Rajkot is a city in the western Indian state of Gujarat. It is the 4th largest city in Gujarat and this will be the 1st time that the city will get a direct flight for any other destination other than Mumbai or Delhi.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Bengaluru-Rajkot
  • Departure time- 12:05
  • Arrival time- 14:30
  • Flight time- 2 hours and 25 minutes
  • Flight number- SG882
  • Rajkot-Bengaluru
  • Departure time- 15:00
  • Arrival time- 17:10
  • Flight time- 2 hours and 10 minutes
  • Flight number- SG883

The carrier will deploy a Boeing B737 on this route. The flight will run on all days except Tuesday.

“Spice Jet will start operation from Rajkot to Bengaluru from February 24. The flight will arrive at 2.30pm and depart at 3pm.”

said Digant Borah, Director, Rajkot Airport.

“It’s a result of our continuous effort to provide air connectivity to industrially developed city.”

National carrier Air India, which is operating a flight from Rajkot to Mumbai 3-times-a-week will increase frequency to 7-days-a-week. Meanwhile, Indigo is also planning to start flights from the city. They have scheduled a meeting with Rajkot airport officials next week.
