Akasa Air, India’s newest airline which is preparing to launch next month, has announced that it will launch new flights between Bengaluru and Mumbai. The announcement comes just days after the airline announced its first set of routes and opened bookings for its first flights.
Starting 19th August 2022, Akasa Air will operate double daily flights between Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
The morning flight between Bengaluru and Mumbai with the following schedule:
- Bengaluru-Mumbai
- Departure time: 11:40
- Arrival time: 13:15
- Flight time: 1 hour and 35 minutes
- Flight number: QP1104
- Frequency: Daily
- Mumbai-Bengaluru
- Departure time: 13:55
- Arrival time: 15:40
- Flight time: 1 hour and 4( minutes
- Flight number: QP1105
- Frequency: Daily
The afternoon flight between Bengaluru and Mumbai with the following schedule:
- Bengaluru-Mumbai
- Departure time: 16:20
- Arrival time: 18:00
- Flight time: 1 hour and 40 minutes
- Flight number: QP1106
- Frequency: Daily
- Mumbai-Bengaluru
- Departure time: 18:40
- Arrival time: 20:15
- Flight time: 1 hour and 35 minutes
- Flight number: QP1306
- Frequency: Daily

The airline will operate these flights with its Boeing B737MAX-8 aircraft featuring 189 seats in an all-Economy class configuration.
The airline says that with the launch of flights between Bengaluru and Mumbai, it will complete the inaugural phase of its network development across cities like Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kochi and Bengaluru, making a total of 82 weekly flights available within the first few weeks of its operations.
Akasa Air will operate its inaugural flight on 7th August 2022 between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The airline will operate 13-weekly flights between the two cities. Then from 12th August 2022, the airline will begin a daily flight between Bengaluru and Kochi, with another daily flight being added on 13th August 2022 between the two cities.
The airline says that its “network expansion strategy is committed to progressively connecting more cities along new sectors to establish a strong pan-India presence, with a focus on metro to tier 2 & 3 route connectivity”.
Yesterday (26th July 2022), Akasa Air took delivery of its second Boeing B737MAX-8 aircraft, registered VT-YAB. It will add an additional two aircraft each month and by the end of 2023, it will have inducted 18 aircraft. It plans to add another 12 to 14 planes every 12 months, which will make up its order of 72 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, delivered over five years.
