IndiGo is expanding aggressively from Hyderabad. After a recent round of expansion which included increased frequencies on existing routes and one new destination, the airline is now once again expanding from Hyderabad with six new destinations. Let’s go over the details.
IndiGo from Hyderabad
As first mentioned by X user HYD Air, IndiGo is launching flights to the following destinations from Hyderabad (HYD) starting late September 2024:
- Agartala (IXA): 4-weekly flights using Airbus A320 aircraft from 23rd September 2024
- Jammu (IXJ): 3-weekly flights using Airbus A320 aircraft from 24th September 2024
- Ayodhya (AYJ): 4-weekly flights using Airbus A320 aircraft from 27th September 2024
- Kanpur (KNU): 4-weekly flights using Airbus A320 aircraft from 27th September 2024
- Prayagraj (IXD): 3-weekly flights using Airbus A320 aircraft from 28th September 2024
- Agra (AGR): 3-weekly flights using Airbus A320 aircraft from 28th September 2024
As mentioned in an earlier article, the low-cost carrier will also launch a daily service to Rajkot Hirasar (HSR) on 16th September 2024.

Increased frequencies
In addition to launching flights to six new destinations from Hyderabad, IndiGo is also increasing frequency on two existing routes:
- Raipur (RPR): additional daily service starting 23rd September 2024, for a total of thrice-daily service, up from the current twice-daily service using A320 aircraft
- Coimbatore (CJB): additional daily service starting 27th September 2024, for a total of four daily services, up from the current thrice-daily service using A320 aircraft
With this latest round of expansion from Hyderabad, the city will be the second biggest for IndiGo in India after Delhi (DEL) in terms of the number of destinations served (both international and domestic combined). As per the data shared by HYD Air, by end of September 2024, IndiGo will connect Hyderabad with 75 destinations, three more than Mumbai (BOM) and Bengaluru (BLR). From DEL, IndiGo operates flights to 82 destinations.
Meanwhile, IndiGo recently launched a new Business Class called “IndiGo Stretch” along with a loyalty program called “IndiGo BluChip”.
